Nigerian Man On Trial For Trying To Smuggle Drugs Hidden In Wooden Statue Into UAE

A 26-year-old Nigerian national is on trial for trying to smuggle drugs into the United Arab Emirates.

According to local Arabic daily Al-Ittihad, customs official at Dubai International Airport screened a parcel addressed to the Nigerian man and discovered 223gms of heroin hidden inside a wooden statue.(pictured)

The Public Prosecution charged the suspect with smuggling drugs and referred him to the criminal court to face trial.
